TIPS FOR IDENTIFYING VINTAGE PERFUME BOTTLES

Elke dag is er wel iemand die mij vraagt of ik ook parfum verkoop, bijvoorbeeld 30 ml flesjes, of een limited edition, of een niet gangbare geur.
Ook dan moet weer zeggen helaas niet, ik heb een kantoorbaan. Toch ga ik er altijd naar op zoek en zoek net zo lang tot ik heb gevonden wat gezocht wordt. Ik heb contacten met groothandels met online winkels etc. en bezoek ik markten en beurzen.
Tijdens deze contacten kom ik natuurlijk ook hele mooie Vintage Parfumflesjes tegen. De mooiste daarvan verzamel ik en gebruik ze als decoratie in mijn huis (als voorbeeld bovenstaande afbeelding).

Tips for identifying vintage perfume bottles
The making of perfume bottles used to be more labor intensive than it is now. Today we can mass produce perfume bottles with machines in mere minutes, when it used to take hours to make them by hand. If you have acquired some perfume bottles and you want to know if they are considered a vintage and worth some money, here are some things to look for:
- Bottle made out of lead crystal.
- Glass dauber stub holds the top in place and used for large spot perfume application.
- Cork stub holds the heavy top in place and perfume in.
- Glass dip stick attached to the top used for spot or swiping perfume application.
- Atomizer cushion pushes air and perfume out.
- Acid etched insignia or foil sticker on bottom of bottle.
- Bottle shape is small or can't stand on it's own like a tube or vile.
- Bottle is unsymmetrical or misshapen.
Does your perfume bottle have any of these qualities? If so, there is a possibility that your perfume bottle might be a vintage Czechoslovakian, Victorian or French bottle of perfume.
